Dae Haeng Kun Sunim
Korea
Dae Haeng Kun Sunim is a revered Korean Seon (Zen) Buddhist nun and master known for making spiritual practice accessible to everyone, regardless of background, by emphasizing reliance on one's innate Buddha-nature through everyday life, not rigid rituals. She founded the Hanmaum Seon Center in 1972, which grew into a global network, and was a major force for advancing the role of Buddhist nuns (Bhikkunis) in Korea, teaching monks, nuns, and laypeople alike. Her core teaching focused on "entrusting" problems to this inner foundation, letting go, and living with awareness and compassion.
