Bhiksuni Ampika Khunvinichkul

Bhiksuni Ampika from Nakhonsi Thammarat, Thailand earned both her B.A. and M.A. in Buddhist studies abroad in Taiwan at Shong Lin University (in Kao Shung) and Nan Hwa University (in Jia Yi), respectively. She completed her M.A. with honors. Bhiksuni Ampika ordained in Taiwan at Fo Guang Shan Monastery, and received the honorific name of Miaosen Shi, in recognition of her heartfelt commitment, similar in effort to the Great Bodhisattva Kwan Yin.
This young monastic then went on to translate the writings of Bhikkhu Hsing Yun ( Taiwan ) from Chinese into Thai, as well as, The History of Fo Guang Shan Monastery. Her scholarly accomplishments earned her the distinguished post of Council Representative at Nan Hwa University . Her industriousness and multi-lingual expertise earned her the position of Director of the Department of Education and Culture at the Fo Guang Shan Branch Temple in Bangkok , and thereafter Abbess.
Currently, Bhiksuni Ampika Khunvinichkul also hosts a Dhamma radio program in Thailand . This amazing young woman, earnest and sincere, accepted lifetime Mahayana Buddhist vows as a Bhiksuni and a life happily in service of the Buddha Dhamma. Bhiksuni Ampika walks in the footsteps of the great bodhisattvas, a beacon for the Mahayana Buddhist community of Thailand.
