Ajahn Manta Horatanachai

Ajahn Manta Horatanachai followed her life interest in Buddhism, and is now a famous Insight Meditation (vipassana) teacher. In 1950 she joined the Buddhist Youth Association of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and campaigned to build a Buddhist Center there. In 1992 she set up a Buddhist Meditation Center in Bangkok with the same organization. In fact, she dedicated her life to working for the Buddhist Youth Association of Thailand, and is now their Honorary Vice-President. She studied meditation with Dr. Khun Maesiri Krinchai, and has, for many years since, taught meditation at the Teacher’s College of Thonburi , as well as at the Buddhist Youth Association of Thailand. Now, at the age of 75, she teaches meditation to people of all walks of life.
