Ajahn Manta Horatanachai

Ajahn Manta Horatanachai followed her life interest in Buddhism, and studied meditation with Dr. Khun Mae Siri Krinchai. In 1950 she joined the Buddhist Youth Association of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and campaigned to build a Buddhist Center there. Then in 1992 she set up a Buddhist Meditation Center in Bangkok with the same organization. In fact, she dedicated her life to working for the Buddhist Youth Association of Thailand, and is now their Honorary Vice-President. As an Insight Meditation (vipassana) teacher, she has taught meditation at the Teacher's College of Thonburi, as well as, at the Buddhist Youth Association of Thailand. At the age of 75, she teaches meditation to people of all walks of life.
