Bhikkhuni Dhamma Khema is 58 years old. She decided to ordain as she experienced faith arise from her practice of keeping precepts. She became a Samaneri at Nirodaram Temple in Chiangmai, and a Bhikkhuni in Sri Lanka.

She established a temple in Khonkhan, Thailand called Sida Aram. She named the temple after her mother, "Sida." She teaches: Anapanasati breath meditation, mindfulness practice of the four positions (Maha Satipatthana Sutta), the Buddhist Cannon, and organizes Samaneri ordination ceremonies at her temple.
