Bhiksuni Shik Chuan Wen is the Advisor to the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia. She made a vow in 1984 to renounce and ordain when she heard Taiwanese Master Hong Yin state, "Malaysia should train local Dharma propagators, and cannot rely on external forces for an extended time."
In 1985 she went to Taiwan to study at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist College and graduated in 1988. She then became the Abbess of Hoeh Beng Buddhist Temple in Kuala Lumpur. Throughout the years she has organized countless Dhamma Camps, Dhamma Talks, Meditation Retreats, Tea Ceremonies, Theatrical Performances, Creative Dance Expression, Buddhist Concerts, Sutra Writing, Moon Bathing (evening meditative walks), Exercise, and Forest Bathing (Forest meditative walks). Her online/in person Meditation Retreats reaching 1,000 people. In addition, she established the publication, "Dharma Dew" and published, The Confessions of Death Row Prisoners.
Bhiksuni Shik Chuan Wen promotes Bhikkhuni -- laity integrity and organizational ethics. She has led her spiritual community nobly throughout the decades and through the Covid pandemic with creativity, inspiring Malaysian Buddhists and propagating the Dhamma. She is also the Advisor to numerous Buddhist organizations in Malaysia.
Bhiksuni Shik Chuan Wen deeply understands and appreciates the great vows of Samanthabadra Bodhisattva.
