Bhiksuni Chang-An took refuge in the Triple Gems and lead her whole family to study Buddhism together.
Her only son and three daughters are now monastics. She even enrolled her husband to let go of the family business and become a monk. Finally, she ordained.
On both sides of the Taiwan Strait there have been such great masters, whom she has supported and learned from. She has supported all kinds of pujas, activities, construction, ordination gatherings, etc. with her heart and money. Many dojos and elders in mainland China, she has supported: the old monk of Mingyang of Longhua Temple, the old monk of Zhenzen of Jade Buddha Temple, the old monk Miaoshan of Putuo Mountain, the Guangji master of Wutai Mountain Jinge Temple and the Jing'am Temple in Shanghai and many other dojos and masters. There are more in Taiwan, such as Yin Shun Instructor of Fuyan Buddhist College, Fo Guang Shan, Zhenhua the old monk of Zhongdao Academy, Jingkong Master of the Pure Sect Society, Hui Tian Lao Master of Zhengjue Monastery, Elder Fazhi of Chaofeng Temple of Dagangshan, and Venerable Master of Pumen Lecture Hall.
With a pure heart, she uses all funds from her gold and jewelry business to protect the Triple Gems. She even set her heart on purchasing land and built a Buddhist Temple. She has wholeheartedly supported Master Ru Song's TV Dharma propagation for the transformation of sentient beings.
Each year along with Venerable Ru Song, she has supported the National Dharma Meeting for more than 1,400 Venerable monastics, for they lead devotees to develop the spirit of caring for the Triple Gems.
Bhiksuni Chang-An offers scholarships and grants to children from poor families. She invites them to participate in the Buddha bathing ceremony. Five to 600 children participate each year and she encourages the children to work hard.
In addition, Venerable Bhiksuni Chang-An donated a fire-truck to the Pingtung Fire Department, various equipment for local civil defense and food stocks. She has given generously to the elderly in the community, nursing homes, orphanages, enlightenment centers, local charitable activities, and even provides funds for the annual electric bill for street lights in order to ensure public safety.
Bhiksuni Chang-An will continue to make good connections with the public.
