Bhikkhuni Thitacarini studied in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Buddhist Education, a Master's Degree in Buddhist Studies, and a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies, and then earned her Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling. She holds a Silver Medal for Best Performance for Buddhist Studies in 2012, and a Gold Medal for Best Performance for her M.A. in Buddhist Studies in 2013, both granted by University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She also holds Diplomas in English, Pali and Public Speaking. She ordained as a Samaneri at Veluvana Temple in Indonesia, and as a Bhikkhuni in Sri Lanka.
With all of her wonderful knowledge well integrated, she serves as a lecturer at Smaratungga Buddhist College in Indonesia, as well as, a guest lecturer at Gadja Mada University and Jinarakkhita Buddhist College. Venerable Bhikkhuni Dr. Thitacarini is also the Head of Scientific Publications at Smaratungga Buddhist College; Finance Manage of Buddhayana Foundation, Head of Dhamma in Action, and in the past has served as a member of the Research and Development Division of Sangha Agung Indonesia, and as a Co-organizer of the Asian Buddhism Connection International Conference in Jakarta.
In addition, the Venerable was a speaker at the UN Vesak Day in 2019; at Satya Wacana Christian University (online) regarding "Caring for the Health, Faith, Immunity and Social Interaction during the Covid-19 Pandemic" (2021); a co-mentor of Dharma Guardian Youth Training, a program aimed at producing superior young Dharmadutas (2022); appearing as an expert at the launch and book review of "Yang Muda Merawat Bangsa" the "Young Take Care of the Nation;" guiding monthly meditation at Mahabodhi Buddhist Center since 2022; and delivering a meditation program in Sydney, Australia (2024) entitled, "Mindful Reset: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World."
