Bhikkhuni Namo
Thailand
Bhikkhuni Namo was born in Chiangmai, Thailand. She is currently 64 years old. She was married and bore 2 children, a daughter and a son. After her children graduated from university, she went forth as a Samaneri at the age of 46. At the age of 50, she received Bhikkhuni ordination and her reason was her inner searching question. Thailand has a father figure as the Bhikkhu in society, but no mother figure as the Bhikkhuni. So, she decided to embody and bring forth the mother archetype in Buddhism as a Bhikkhuni for Thai society.
Bhikkhuni Namo has studied the Abhidhamma for 15 years and completed at the highest level in 2019. Now, she is studying for her M.A. degree in Buddhism at Maha Chulalongkorn University in Chiangmai. She is also studying Pali at the same time.
Bhikkhuni Namo studies Dhamma, meditates and also, has travelled repeatedly as a "tudong" journeying, alms mendicant along with the Bhikkhu Sangha. She has lived and practiced with the Bhikkhu Sangha of Sopana Temple in Chiangmai for 15 years and is the only Bhikkhuni. She often offers enjoyable Dhamma teaching to the villagers.
Bhikkhuni Namo is so happy that her children are successful in life and that she can bring forth the Bhikkhuni Sangha. Bhikkhuni Namo is a positive force, a pioneer, in Thailand.
